As developers, we spend a lot of time inside our IDEs. This half day workshop will show you how good tooling can reduce the pain points of coding, and by the end of the session, you'll have learnt how Rider, JetBrains' standalone, cross platform .NET IDE, can help you effortlessly navigate your code, help you read and learn your codebase better, and write code faster and cleaner than ever before. We'll also see what the "I" in IDE stands for, and see how essential tooling such as version control and database management is seamlessly integrated. It's time to invest in your tools.
During this workshop, we will take existing computational code which is already implemented in C# as normal scalar code, and re-write it using AVX/AVX2 CPU intrinsics that will outperform our baseline scalar version and hopefully see large (order of magnitude) speedups compared to the already optimized scalar code. We will also talk about CPU pipelines, branch prediction and code efficiency, as all of those topics go hand in hand with CPU intrinsics. We will learn not only how to write intrinsics based code but also patterns for testing it and benchmarking.
We will go over many real-world optimization examples used in Nethermind. Participants will use multiple profiling tools to analyse many .NET Core tools and concepts – Span<T>, stackalloc, multithtreading, SIMD, hardware intrinsics, Bloom filters and others. Participants will learn about various optimizations techniques and learn to analyse the results using Benchmark.NET for micro-benchmarking and CPU and memory profilers for tracking application-wide performance results.
Two days full of knowledge about .NET internals and .NET performance. Your developer's life will not be the same! And meals will be great too!
Top-notch speakers about .NET performance and internals from Poland and abroad. You know them for sure, let's hear them live!
A professional and pleasant place to comfortably deal with the topics presented - Digital Knowledge Village!
Small surprises will be there also! You won't return empty-handed (besides great knowledge and networking opportunity).
Full agenda is already published.
Detailed agenda is to come. But be prepared for low-level, yet still practical knowledge about JIT, Garbage Collection, memory usage, unsafe code, benchmarking, and so on, and so forth.
This is two day conference with around one-hour talks. Of course, there will be time for breaks with some nice food and beverages, including lunch. Then less official part comes in the evening between two days to have conversations in more relaxed atmosphere!
All talks, including those from Polish speakers, will be given in English. This is by design international conference!
All payments accepted by Evenea are accepted.
Dotnetos is an initiative of three .NET fans. We love this technology and we love performance. We love to get deep into how it works. And we love to share the knowledge we gain. We organize tours, conferences (both public and on-site) and trainings. Contact us if you or your company are interested!
